NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE COVER REVIEW

I chose this one because i like how the reflection of the building looks on the water. I also like how much detail they were able to capture of the building even though it’s just a cover page. Seeing this picture gives me the urge to travel

I chose this cover because i like how well they were able to capture the beauty of this indian women, and how they were able to express the indian culture for women very well in just a cover page.

I chose this one because i think the snow and the deer remind me a lot about a classic white christmas. And it makes me remember and feel exactly how cold snow is and how much i love the christmas season.

GEORGIA O’KEEFE ILLUSTRATION

This photo by GEORGIA O’KEEFE is the one i am most intrigued with because although you can tell that they are flowers, they don’t look anything like flowers. I also like how the whole background is green, and the two flowers are the only red bright thing. They colors match well with eachother.

SYNOPSIS

A silhouette can be used to add glamour and intensity everyday photographs. But is also known as a defined, black shape that’s in front of a bright simple backdrop. Since it is so simple its been one of the most used photography methods. Although it seems very simple, it isn’t easy to accomplish such work. Since the photographer has to learn how to break all the average photography rules. When it comes to taking pictures you want a perfectly black lit subject and a bright back ground, to allow the subject to pop out more. And the photograph should keep distrctions out of the background. The most important rule in exposing for a silhouette is to always expose for the background, not the subject

CULTURE PARAGRAPHS

The first thing that stood out to me and as how you can express your culture in many different ways. One of those ways being pictures and photography in general. Usually when people ask others what it is they do in life as a career, when they answer saying photography. It sounds so blahn. However it’s much more than a simple hobby. Photography is soemthing that defines us. When they would ask adam his answer would be documentary photography, but that didn’t sit right with him. Adam says that photography is a lot more for him than it seems. And once he figured that out, it’s became a lot more easier for him to express to people what he really does.

To many people culture doesn’t really like a lot, but in reality culture is much more deeper than that. People think the sulfure is just remote cultures, however there’s is many different cultures in different cities, states, countries, the whole world, and different house holds. Adam did more than one category  in photography, there was also a category caller “culture anthropology” and high is the he study of social anthropology. And Adam takes it within himself to combine aspects of each different category.

However adam would never recomend people doing that. He himself considered it editorial suicide. To him culture isn’t limited to being in color. Although it took time for him to understand every little thing on why he was an outsider. He was able to udnerstand every little thing. Adams best advice is to “expirence first and photograph second.” Which to me was the most impactful thing i took from this article.
